Meet Danielle

We are excited to have Danielle join our Coaching team at Coastal CrossFit. Danielle has trained with us at Coastal CrossFit since 2014. Since then, she has benefited first hand from everything CrossFit has to offer and we have benefited from having her in our lives. A huge part of our community, Danielle always supports and brings out the best in every athlete during regular training and competition. Those that know Danielle would agree it is the perfect progression for her to taking on a Coaching role at Coastal CrossFit. We could not be more excited to have Danielle join our Coaching team and know she will change many lives during her coaching journey.

Background:
Danielle’s words:
I am a mother and grandmother and have been working in pre-hospital emergency care for the last 19 years. My husband and I started at Coastal CrossFit several years ago and we have enjoyed building our strength, coordination, agility and speed, and learning lots of new skills along the way.
The unexpected bonus has been the life-long friendships and support from the Coastal CrossFit community.
I completed the Level 1 CrossFit Trainers course to improve my own movement and fitness and to move into the coaching space. What I have realised and something that gives me great pleasure is seeing a gym member achieve a ‘first’, this maybe their first full range of motion squat, a push-up, a muscle up, a personal best in a WOD or a weightlifting movement. It is amazing to be a part of or contribute to someone’s fitness journey.
I enjoy competing in team events and the CrossFit Games Open and have goals to improve my worldwide ranking in the 50+ age group. Every time I enter the gym my goal is to move better and work on things that need improvement, even if I don’t feel like it.
I think a really important point for anyone thinking about CrossFit is to understand that you don’t have to be strong and/or fit to join CrossFit, you simply must consistently turn up and the fitness and strength will come. It really is ‘Fitness for life’
Throughout my professional career I have met very few people who are still independent into their 80s and 90s, those who were still went to gym and challenged themselves by doing different things.
This quote certainly sums it up for me:
‘Make time for your health now, or you’ll have to make time for disease later’ Julie Foucher (CrossFit athlete and Medical Doctor)
